Well, I’m in the middle of packing and thought I would bop on and leave one last post before I jet off to … uh … Oklahoma! Everyone asks where I’m going on vacation and when I say Oklahoma they all get a puzzled look on their face like they’re thinking “why in the hell would you go to freaking Oklahoma on your vacation”. LOL Ah! But we all know the pinnacle of woo-woo is right there in Tahlequah, don’t we? Yes indeedy do.
Biggie ups to the PiK who is going to be wearing the “Snarky” pants while I’m gone. I may bop in here and there but don’t know what access I will have there yet although I am quite sure it is NOT what I have now (spoiled rotten thing that I am). Not only that but I will be in high woo-woo vibrational mode and may just fly off the top of the mountain and forget all about computers! (ha! as if, right?)
How pooty to be out of the loop during the last few days until the election. My predictions: we shall see higher gas prices right after it (mark my words, y’all. We is being played.), all hell will break loose if the dems take BOTH the house and senate and that little thing called martial law … yeah, well, that might just become a bit more of a focus. I was reading a diary over at Kos from a guy who saw former Ambassador Joe Wilson at a fund raiser last night.
“I asked a serious question about how he thinks the Bush administration will respond if the Dems DO retake both houses of Congress, considering that a) Bush can now LEGALLY arrest, lock up and torture any U.S. citizen he wants to; b) Bush can now declare martial law anywhere and anytime he wants to; and c) Rumor has it that FEMA has contracted with Halliburton to build dozens of detention centers here in the U.S.
His response was, let’s just say, not encouraging.”
Uh oh.
“In short, Wilson anticipates that starting November 8th (or more likely in January, when the new Congress takes office), the United States will very likely have not one, but several Constitutional crisis’ occur.
I prefaced my question by admitting that I might be going into tinfoil hat territory. Unfortunately, Wilson stated that at this point, under this administration “there are no tinfoil hats anymore.”
So, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride whether the dems take some control or not. If we take control, we’re gonna be blamed and boondoggled and if we remain in the minority, it’s only going to get worse. PiK is only a bit into the politics (and not much of the ranting you get from me) so perhaps you’ll get a respite this week. Maybe she’ll take you inside her head where there’s sweetness and light and fairies. Most of the time, anyway. heh
Back to packing. Hope you all have a good week and try not to miss me too much, okay? (A little bit is fine, of course.) Play nicely and give the wee PiK a warm welcome!
Go vote on Tuesday!
