From a comment on Huffington Post about why the dems will once again lie down for Dear Leader:
If you look at it objectively, this is what you get from the incestuous corruption that is Congress — and that goes for both Parties. Congress is comprised primarily of millionaire beggars who spend the majority of their time raising money from large corporations who benefit from wars. The only exceptions to this are those who are so incredibly wealthy they can afford these expensive runs on their own dime. They have developed such tortured “ethics” they tolerate behavior that would land any one of their constituents in jail without ever taking actions againt the “offender”. That’s because they all commit similar and equally illegal practices, just some are made public while most are missed by a compliant media. So they know if they take action against one of their own, it could well implicate them.
They cynically blame it all on “the System”, ignoring the fact they ARE the system and could change it by legislation.
With that as the underlying environment, it becomes much easier to understand how they work so hard to get nothing done and simply lie about their accomplishments and exaggerate them. So if the matter of the maimings and murders of our children challenges their ability to collectively milk the gravy train, oh, well, those children must be sacrificed. If a President clearly violates the Constitution and commits treason and high crimes and misdemeanors, just talk against it, but don’t take action that upsets the apple cart. If the people don’t like the murders and maimings, act like you agree with them and claim you can’t make the changes because of the other side, even though you can make the change.
The Dems continued funding of this war drips in blood and corruption from top to bottom. But the need to protect this organized, institutional corruption, trumps the need to end the murder and maimings. And so the Dems will continue funding the war while talking against it. They have long been too corrupted to care about anything other than their next election and the money train that supports it.
This is why I am taking off the DEM sticker from my car. I have said before that I am not so naive that I think Dems are without agendas but seeing this spelled out in black and white just seals the deal. I heard Jonathan Turley on Randi Rhodes a week ago talking about the same thing (from the comments on the same post at HuffPo):
I heard a very disturbing interview on a recent Randi Rhodes show on Air America. She was talking with the brilliant Jonathon Turley, Constitutional scholar from Georgetown Univ. Turley stated with some authority that the reason we’re not seeing any action by Congressional Dems on confronting this evil administration on ANYTHING is that the FIX IS IN.
SIGH … so very disheartening. What to do, what to do?
