(RE: McCain’s bail on Friday’s debate)
the cheapest of cheap political stunts, worth less than the mortgage-backed securities at the core of this mess.
What, in Gob’s name, does an imbecile who said “the fundamentals of our economy are strong” a week ago and admitted that the economy isn’t his strong suit have to contribute to solving this crisis? Not a goddamn thing.
And is he going to drag his powerpuff girl–our nation’s leading expert on energy, according to him–along with her?
Obama should respond by saying that a president needs to be able to multitask and count on other smart people as well. If McCain can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, that’s his problem.

Edited to add this comment from another diary on DKos:
McCain graduated at the bottom of his class and he is up against a guy who TEACHES CONSTITUTIONAL LAW on top of all his rhetorical skills, personal charisma and deep, deep reserves of just fucking cool.
McCain finally woke up to the reality that he is going to look like the utter fool that he is and he wants out, the game ain’t no fun any more.
If the entire future of our country wasn’t hanging in the balance, I’d find this whole McCain/Palin shenanigans hilarious. Unfortunately, it’s just pathetic and transparent at the same time. This is going to be a hellish, hellish ride. In fact, the astrologers have been calling this one almost pitch perfect for over a year now.
Thanks to more nudging from Duty, I will be doing my first evening of phonebanking for Senator Obama Monday! Woot!
Looks like there’s a deal after all. And today’s only Thursday. Wonder how he’ll get out of it now …
