Dear all 87 of my lovely subscribers:
Fine. It’s true. I have no ideas left on my own and have been cadging them from The Gal. I cannot tell a lie. As a reward for stealing all her ideas, she posed five questions to yours truly. And I will have you know these are questions just. for. me. because I’m that cool and worthy of her time and thought power. All hail the great Gal!!
Here goes:
1) Do you think Sophia regards you as her friend, her kitten, or her mother?
Background: Sophia is my upstairs kitty and I inherited her from a friend named Mary who passed away a couple years ago. I think she sees me as mostly friend, sometimes mommy. The mommy/lovie part comes late at night (round about, oh, 3am or so) when she snuggles up on my chest, right under my neck and purrs for all she’s worth. I love that. Even if it wakes me up. We have some lovie time and then she hops off, goes back to her business and I go back to sleep.
One thing about Sophie that is different than my other kitties: I had to earn her love. Lucie and Midjie were born to Mommy cat and have known no other mommy besides me and said mommy cat. Their love was inborn. I got Murphy as a kitty so she and I bonded early and Mommycat was a stray who decided to come live with me. I can’t say she ever loved me, persay, but she was grateful for a warm house and lots of food.
Sophie, on the other hand, was a kennel kitty, hanging outside with the dogs in Mary’s kennel and having fun on her own. When I took her home she cried and cried and cried. I tried integrating her into my pet farm but Lucie made that impossible so instead of giving her away to someone else, we kept her upstairs. It took her quite a while to feel at home and to come sit next to me (much less on me) but slowly she’s warmed up to me and we truly love each other now.
2) Did you actually VOTE for David Cook on American Idol, or did you just cheer for him from your living room?
Well, my love for Cookie is strong so yes, I voted but never more than I did the night of the final. I had a cell phone to text on, an online site to vote on and the landline. I stayed up for FOUR hours and voted straight on through. The hell Simon will throw my boy under the bus! I multi-tasked my ass off that night. Bless DialIdol for keeping us posted on how the calls were going and showing that Cookie had a huge ass lead. I was dog tired the next day but I did my duty!!
3) Describe the outfit you look your best in (it has to be in your closet/drawers now).
Hmmm … this is a tough one. I am not in love with how my body looks these days so nothing looks spectacular on me. But there is a really pretty spring skirt I wear with a lavender top and I feel pretty and girly in it.
4) Can wishing ever make it so?
That is a good question. If it were empirically true, I’d be snuggling (and stuff) with Mr. Cook as I write this. Yet, I do think intention, stated with genuine heartfelt energy, can start the process in motion. If it’s for my highest good, it will come to pass.
5) Check your iPod — which artist is represented by the most songs?
Easily Cookie by a mile. Not only do I have all three of his Axium cds (his band before he went solo), but I have his solo (pre-idol) cd “Analog Heart” and every permutation of song he sang on AI. In addition, I have the stuff from the David Cook record he just released plus all kinds of live recordings of those songs. The only other person that rivals him on my Ipod is Sade. I love her music and have every one of her cds. (Have seen her live as well. Great show!)
That was cool! If anyone wants to play on their blog, leave me a comment and I will come up with five questions just for you! Thanks, Gal!
I’m game for the blog question game, can you think of five questions for me? Or should I ask how you are first before making it all about me?! ;)
That was cool! I loved the first one about your kitty the most. Jon brought his cat down when he moved down here with me and it seems I was that “Margie-lady” to him for the longest time.
Today, nine years later – that cat thinks I’m his heterosexual life partner!!
Great answers! You have given Sophie a wonderful life, even after someone disposed of her like a Kleenex. It’s heartwarming how you two found each other, and how she fits into your home. I’m glad you have an outfit that makes you feel girly. And you do love your Cookie! Thanks for playing the game.
