Is that not hilarious? [crickets] Bueller? Anyone? Well, *I* think it’s funny.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, it’s raining and storming like all hell. I’m fine with that but Max is almost literally up my butt with fear and Lucie is back hiding under the couch. Sophie is happy upstairs with her favorite channel (MSNBC) on the tv.
(Dammmmmmit! I hit the wrong button and deleted the entire last two paragraphs of this here blog post. GRRRR. This is why I should be doing these on Word docs and not just in WP. Fuck.)
I was discussing how I used my fantastico Google skills to find out who ObamaBoy was from Friday night on the plane. This intelligent, polite, cute and diplomatic young man took these photos of the Obamas on Election night which made their way around the internets. He was so kind to Chatty Cathy as she blathered on and on and ON about her bridge tournament, where to visit while she was in Chicago, her sense that Rod Blagojevich was a stand up guy and a million other things. It was definitely a contrast to my pissy “I want what I want when I want it” state of mind because she was getting in the way of my chatting. And I was able to take a step back and really look at how he engaged her, asked questions that furthered the conversation and generally was very patient. I was not that way at all and it was a reminder that sometimes I need to step out of “what *I* want-ville” and extend myself toward others even and especially when they are thwarting my goal at the moment. He was a nice guy and looked like a much cuter version of my first boyfriend.
That’s all I remember from my lost first post. The Uni has decreed that it was not to be shared even though it wasn’t anything enlightening or snarky. (Perhaps that’s why!!)
More after I take some gingko biloba to bring back my memory.
Thanks for the Flickr link! ObamaBoy captured HISTORY! It was a pleasure to look at them.
I’m not especially proud of this, but I voted for Blago TWICE and contributed $400 (ouch, hurts even to write it) to his campaign. And yet even I know that the kindest thing to be said about him is that at least he isn’t responsible for the deaths of 5 children the way his predecessor, Governor Ryan, was. Oh, and that when confronted with the task of eating a tarantula, his wife rises to the occasion.
