And I won’t have to rely on poptarts for love. (heh)
Cousin O’Cool’s still unnamed boychild shall be making his world debut this coming Thursday (our dearly departed Grandma’s birthday, by the way) and I can’t wait.
Then Cousin O’Love’s first grandchild makes his world debut in early March. (No names are being divulged from that faction. What is it with people and their baby names? Out with it, already!)
So, yeah. Babies. Lots of them.
My previous boyfriend (before Duty) and his wife just had a girl. We were together when he was 23 and I was 35 (LORD!) – he’s now 42 and I am … well, I am old. And they just had their first child. He deleted his FB profile so I had to go friend his wife to see the baby. I was worried that she thought I might be stalking them (What? I’m not! I love babies is all!) The idea of him being a dad makes my heart happy and I’m tickled for them.
Soon there will be warmer weather, too!
I am over this cold shit.
If I wanted that, I’d move to Wisconsin or some other God-forsaken coldland. This is Maryland where we don’t much care for that sort of thing. This house is drafty as all get out and I’m perpetually cold which does nothing to help my creativity. Did you know that your whole creative mojo just leaves when it’s cold? (Mine does, anyway, so it must be universal. It must be so!)
Sounding mighty cranky, ain’t I? It’s the weather. As soon as it turns even the slightest bit toward spring, I’ll regain my footing and joy.
What I’m watching (because you’re dying to know)
1. I’m down to the last 2 eps of Breaking Bad. The last one I watched “Ozymandias” just about took me down. (Kwiz, remember that one where it all came apart leaving Hank dead, Junior knowing what’s really going on, Jesse being tortured and Walt running off with Holly?) I think I need to wait a few days to pull myself together before I head into the last two. Then, I’ll do it all again.
2. The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst – welcome to “Creepy as Fuck” theatre starring wealthy insane person Robert Durst. I had never heard of him (Gal, had you?) but apparently, this man allegedly killed his first wife and wasn’t prosecuted, killed some neighbor dude and sawed him up and dumped his body in the river and got nine months for illegal disposal of a body (WHAT?).
Then there’s a lot of questions about the death of his former bestie who was keeping his secrets for the hush money and interestingly enough, died of a gunshot wound before she was to give a deposition on what she knew about first wife’s disappearance. Dude (known on the forums as “Blinky McBlinkerson” because of his really weird eye tics) is the textbook definition of “what the fuck is wrong with this guy?”.
It’s a six-part documentary on HBO and I got hooked into it scrolling through the ON-Demand stuff. I find this kind of thing interesting from a “What’s that about?” perspective. Gal might know that the 2010 movie “All Good Things” was based on the disappearance of his first wife. (Not a good movie despite the presence of a Gosling.) If you liked Serial, you might like this series. If you like watching tic-prone creepy people, you might like this series.
3. Not sure what I’ll dig into next. So far, have dabbled in “The West Wing” (oy! That 90s music by Snooky Someone grates on my nerves), “The Wire” (can’t get past the first episode but I’ll move on to #2) and a few others. Suggestions?
Next time you hear from me: BABIES!! Whee!
